We are proudly inviting you to the launch of the book "From Applause to Trade Unions: A Manual on Cultural Work".
It is intended for all underpaid and precarious cultural workers and artists who need a memento for labor law issues, but also as an incentive to co-organize and fight for better working conditions.
When is the author’s contract signed? Why business shouldn’t be done at a bar, not even with a friend who is producer or a publisher? How to request a higher fee? What are gross and net pay, salary contributions, tax deductions and tax credits? How is work service calculated for people who work for wages? What are trade unions and what are professional associations? Are there collective agreements for freelances? What about unpaid overtime hours? Why is sexual harassment a trade union issue? What provisions of a contract we need to pay attention to if we want to protect our copyright? How to recognize different stages of a burnout? Why fight collectively rather than as individuals?
The book tries to answer these and many other questions. We are distributing it free of charge to all those who are interested.
